As Edward was going to hear Wilford speak a second time, he says Mary told him "I should think you will not come back without being baptized." Over 1000 members of the United Brethren and others in the area converted in 1840, including Edward, Susannah and her family, Mary, and Ann's mother-in-law Susannah Burrup.
