Susannah's Later Life
Susannah was cared for in her later years by John and other relatives. She immigrated with some of them to Illinois.

John Burrup's brother-in-law, Edward Phillips, was a preacher for the local United Brethren church. In 1840, Wilford Woodruff arrived in the area as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught the church. Over 1000 members of the United Brethren and others in the area converted in 1840, including members of the Burrup family.
Susannah and her grandson Thomas Green were living with John and Martha Burrup in early 1841.
In 1841, Susannah joined the Green and Phillips families immigrating to Nauvoo to gather with the church members there. She was 60 years old. She lived on a farm in Camp Creek, east of Nauvoo, with Edward Phillips's family and two of her grandchildren, Thomas and James (Ann Phillips's son).
Susannah may have evacuated Nauvoo in 1846; she died sometime between 1844 and 1849, when the Green and Phillips families traveled to Utah.
